School History

Old Bexley CE Primary School opened its doors to pupils on 1 September 1992.  Upon entry to the school in Reception, there were 2 classes made up of children born from September to April.  A third class of children born in May to August would then start in January.  In September 2009 this system was abolished so that all Reception children started school together, which was called a single point of entry. 

Prior to Old Bexley, the school site was home to Parkwood County Primary Junior School, which opened in 1968.  Originally it was just the Junior School children who were on the site, whilst the infants attended St Mary’s & St John’s CofE Infant school in Bourne Road.  However, in 1974, the Infant school relocated to the same site as Parkwood in what is now the KS1 building.  In 1992, both schools were amalgamated to create Old Bexley CE Primary School. 

There have been four Head Teachers so far at Old Bexley: Mr Roberts, Mr Wilson, Ms Lindridge and Mrs Ivil (current Head).

In 2015, Old Bexley joined the Amadeus Primary Academy Trust.
